Character Spotlight

It's been a bit since my first post but I'm back and I decided to do a weekly or daily depending on popularity of the post but I am going to be doing a character spotlight on character I've created in Q2 and that I am currently working on to bring them from hand drawn to digital. It's been challenging teaching myself digital design and creating apparel products at the same time. So what I will do is post an image of a character, give a small introduction and post an apparel design I created with that character. If I get feedback on what type of clothing someone would like to get with a particular character or design, I will try and accommodate. No promises. Without further ado let's start this week's character spotlight.

This is Yujiko Eiru: The Raging Demoness. I'm a huge fan of the anime Baki but I'm also a fan of the design of Street Fighter's Akuma. While working on another character, a random thought popped into my head. What if I created a female version of Yujiro Hanma or Akuma. Then as I looked up to see if anyone else had tried to do it. I didn't see anything that caught my attention but then I decided to create my own version. So I started with a hand drawn version as you can see below.

Then as I started learning the basics in photoshop which is what I always wanted to do and since there was no one I could talk to about learning the program I decided to teach myself. After a few trials of studying the program I was finally comfortable enough to try and create a digital version of the character and below is the result. I think she came out nicely personally. Let me know what you thing.

After that I decided to try and create a t-shirt design with her. The is the result. Nothing too flashy but I really like it. Hopefully other will also. I posted this design on Redbubble.
